Booking a Budget Flight

Booking a cheap air ticket is not always an easy process, especially if you are new to travel. Flights don't have to cost you the price of a Spanish property, however, and can be bought on a fairly tight budget if you follow a few, simple buying strategies.

To begin with, it is always a good idea to book your tickets in advance. Airlines tend to hike their prices in the weeks preceding the departure date so if you can secure your seats several months beforehand, this is advisable and will save you a significant amount of money.

Alternatively, you can also leave booking your flight to the very last minute. If you buy your ticket in the hours leading up to take-off you will also, sometimes, find that you pay less. This is not a recommended strategy, however, since it risks not getting a seat at all.

You should also approach your travel agent and browse the internet looking for package deals. These are often a great way of saving money, and include the cost of both travel and accommodation in one lump sum.

In short, it is not impossible to buy air tickets on a budget. As long as you follow a good, money-saving strategy, you will find numerous ways in which to go about cutting down on expenditure.
